SpaceProbe Quick Start

The following tutorial will get you started with SpaceProbe.

SpaceProbe is controlled by command line input (see overview for details).

Quick steps to get you spacebourne:
Command line
Notice the T-5079 station close to the start position - rumors are that series 50 stations are very dangerous to board but also very rewarding in terms of resources... -Always check your HAL levels before boarding unknown hardware
  1. Launch SpaceProbe and type the command: cds enable
in the prompt (CMD). The onboard computers will now start.
  2. Next start the life support system: als enable
  3. Enable the solar arrays to support the power cells: sol enable
  4. Enable the high-powered ion engines: eng enable
  5. Set the engines burn level to maximum thrust: burn level
    (select "maximum" and press ENTER)
The spacecraft is now ready for the next step that involves setting the destination coordinates.
  1. First make a scan 16000 kilometers into the surrounding space: scn enable
  2. Wait until the scan completes and open the list of identified objects: location
  3. From the locations list select the D-9055 space station. The flight computer
will calculate when to retro burn (break) for approach to the selected destination.
  4. Call up the burn menu: burn
  5. In the burn menu choose a manual burn by writing: ma
and Press ENTER to start the burn
The xenon gas is fed at high pressure into the super-charged engines, where it is ionized and thrusted into space at great velocity. The acceleration factor depends on the burn level indicated by the led circles at the bottom of the control panel, each representing one of the three engines.
HAL docking indicator
  1. While accelerating toward the new destination, contact the space station to acquire docking permission: com
  2. In the communications dialog (COM) write: d-9055 docking request
Because of the short distance in this scenario the response shouldn’t take to long.
  3. When arrived at your destination the radar should read "D-9055: docking range..." which leads to the next
    command: dock enable
  4. If permission was obtained earlier, the next step would be to board the space station: airlock open
  5. When inside the space station choose: Refuel spacecraft
You are now ready to visit the neighboring station T-3672. Besides from using the location menu, it’s also possible to type the station id directly into the prompt: heading t-3672 or by coordinate using the destination command.
TIP: A good idea is to acquire local positions data while docked. It is also possible to obtain local positions data by radio (COM) and using the returned id's in the heading command.

IMPORTANT: Study the commands in the overview section and explore the possibilities and combinations of the systems onboard the spacecraft to find creative ways to obtain information and location data, which in the end will help you getting closer to the
game objectives >>.
